Explore downtown Yangon starting on Mahanbandola Road. Visit Immanuel Baptist Church (1830), pass food stalls and markets, then turn onto Pansodan Street. See book stalls, the High Court Building, Inland Water Transport offices, and Myanma Port Authority. Walk to Strand Road, view the Strand Hotel, Customs House, and Law Court. Head north on Bank Street to Sule Pagoda Road; consult fortune tellers and photograph Sule Pagoda (over 2,000 years old), Independence Monument, and Mahabandoola Garden. Tour City Hall, Indian and Chinese quarters, Shwe Bontha Street gold shops, Moseh Yeshua Synagogue, and Theingyi Zei market. Visit Sri Kali Temple and Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda’s 70-meter reclining Buddha.
